Time zone meeting planner
Pick a date and two to five cities. Each column is the same moment, written as a local time. Dark green columns are the hours when every city is inside 9:00–18:00.
This date is the first city’s local date.
- New York changes clocks at Nov 1, 2026 01:00, from UTC−4 to UTC−5.

On this date, 9:00–18:00 does not overlap in every selected city.

- Everyone’s 9:00–18:00 overlaps
- That city’s 9:00–18:00
How to use it
- Choose a date. That calendar day belongs to the first city.
- Add two to five cities. Changing a row that is already listed swaps the two rows.
- Dark green columns are overlap of everyone’s 9:00–18:00.
- Copy the link, or open a poll with the first two time zones filled in.
How the conversion works
Offsets are not hardcoded. Each column is an absolute instant converted with Intl and the IANA time zone for that city on the date you picked. When clocks fall back, the repeated hour is two columns. When clocks spring forward, the missing hour is absent. A 30-minute offset, such as India, is judged from the minutes in that column, not from the hour number alone. If a selected city changes its offset within two weeks of the date, the page names the local time of the change.
FAQ
- How does this time zone converter work?
- It uses the IANA time zone database through Intl, on the server and in the browser. Tokyo stays on UTC+9. London and New York move by an hour when the date you picked is in daylight saving time.
- What happens on a daylight saving day?
- On a fall-back day the same local hour exists twice, so the grid shows two columns for it. On a spring-forward day the skipped hour is missing. Each column is still one real hour.
- Which hours are best for a meeting?
- Columns where every selected city is inside 9:00–18:00 local time. Three or more cities often have no such hour. Pale green is that city’s own workday, which is the compromise when a full overlap does not exist.
- Can I share a result?
- The date and the cities are in the date and tz query parameters. Copy the link and the next person sees the same grid.
- Can I turn this into a poll?
- “Create a poll with these times” opens the form with the first city as your time zone and the second city as the other one. The form’s hours stay 9:00–18:00, the same window the grid highlights. The form does not take a custom hour range in the URL.
